History

David Churchill Surveyors 1990 – 2004
In 1990 David Churchill began a Land Development Consultancy, David Churchill Surveyors, from his home in Manurewa, Manukau City. Over the next 14 years David moved the office 3 times as the business grew. Eventually he was operating his company from a house converted to an office in Orams Road, Manurewa.

Churchill Timms 2004 – 2008
In February 2004 he merged his company with Dave Timms’ company to form Churchill Timms Ltd and moved his office and staff to Botany South. At the end of 2008, David Churchill and Dave Timms decided to separate the combined business into two separate businesses.

Churchill LDS 2009 - Present
David Churchill resurrected his previous company, David Churchill Surveyors Ltd, but with a company name change to Churchill Land Development Services Ltd (Churchill LDS), to better reflect the company’s abilities. He is looking forward to achieving new milestones in 2009, helping his existing & new clients with their land development projects.

David has a well deserved reputation in the Land Development and Surveying industry for integrity, honesty, innovation, accuracy and achieving results. He has been working as a Consultant Surveyor since 1990, and has a strong interest in Engineering Design and project management. David cares about the environment that he is creating for the eventual residents of the subdivisions that he designs. He will not cut corners or create a living environment that is unpleasant to live in. David is passionate about good, practical design that will result in a place that people are proud to call home.

David’s other passions are

(1) Supporting the development of the Surveying profession, in which he has been actively involved over the years, with the NZ Institute of Surveyors executive committees. He has recently been part of the Review Committee to rewrite the NDS (National Diploma in Surveying) Unit standards, and he is currently training to be an Assessor for the NDS – verifying the competence of Survey Technicians. David is not afraid of speaking his mind, or being the dissenting voice if he believes in something and this has been recognised as a strong personal quality, and

(2) Sailing – David was a competitive sailor for 30 years, competing at national and international regattas, and he is still passionate about the sport. He has now changed to enjoy time fishing and spending time on the water with his family, zipping around the Waitemata Harbour in his power boat, or planning family boating holidays in different locations.
